If my kids wanted to see any pictures of themselves prior to Grandma's intervention for their scrapbook-impaired mother, they had to look at our huge photo library on the computer. Grace actually did that lots of times, just browsing through the millions of images to see what she'd been doing all her life. Now that Grandma has come to the rescue they've been able to pour over their lives in pictures like never before. I am so SO grateful! Not only does it lift the burden of guilt for not getting it done myself, it brings back lots of cherished memories as I look through the pages. I actually feel like I have more time on my hands, somehow, knowing that the books are being taken care of. And to a busy mom/wife/Relief Society President, nothing says "I love you" like the gift of time.

Wow...as a fellow scrapbooker, all I can say is WOW! No kidding, what an awesome gift. Does she do this for all her grandkids?!?!?!? With 5 kids, despite any and all efforts, I am QUICKLY falling behind on my kid's books.
ReplyDeletelove. such a great gift. does this mean you have given up on scrapbooking altogether? shame on you =). it's such a great feeling to be able to give these books to your children. i wish i had more done for my kids.
ReplyDeleteWow! She's a keeper.
ReplyDeleteAlisa- No, not all the grandkids. Only my kids because I live close and she knows I don't ever take time to scrapbook. That, and she is an avid scrapbooker herself and has been for years (though only since her kids were older) and my kids always like to look for pictures of themselves in her scrapbooks when we go down for dinner.
ReplyDeleteBrooke- I haven't given up on the idea entirely. Just for a year or two. I will still have to catch up on my own family scrapbook and do books for the kids to cover ages 0 - 5. Now, if only I could get you to do my sister's quilt for me I'd have it made :) I've always wished there were about 3 of me. Apparently that's what it takes to get everything done.
Yeah, Janeen! I've always loved her...
ReplyDeleteSweet! That is true love!! Do you think if I gave her all my hundreds of pictures that she'd do the same for my kids? LOL
ReplyDeleteWe spent an hour yesterday looking at pictureson the computer (covering the past 3 years of time). I guess it's better to have them (even if not in book form) than to not have them at all.
Your MIL is AWESOME!! :)
What a neat Grandma! That is so nice of her!
ReplyDeleteThe book looks great too. Very lucky!!!!!
