Arrow of Light

Because there wasn't going to be another Pack Meeting until January after his birthday, Spencer worked hard and got all his requirements finished in November for both his Webelos and Arrow of Light awards in Cub Scouts. Our ward combines with two others for Cub Scouts as we don't have very many boys that age, and since Darrel is one of the Cub Masters, he got the honor of presenting Spencer with his awards. It was a fun night! Spencer is excited to move on to Boy Scouts in January!
You can't tell from the picture, but Spencer really is excited to get his awards.
Another Cub Master doing his elaborate (and somewhat lengthy) bridging ceremony, in which the scouts assemble the bridge before crossing from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts.
Getting my mother's pin. Tip: Always wear a sweater to these events. It's very easy to get the pins on and off without leaving a big hole.
Spencer's arrow on his Arrow of Light plaque.
The completed bridge, in all its glory. It's quite an engineering marvel.
Spencer telling some of the things he learned in Cub Scouts as he crosses the bridge.
The 11 year old Scout leader, Brother Barss, giving Spencer his new neckerchief.
Bro. Barss asking if Spencer likes camping and cooking and doing his own dishes. He's not sure about the dishes...
Onward and upward, Spencer!
