Sunny Sunday

A couple of weeks ago we hopped in the car after Stake Conference and drove to a nearby bird refuge. We'd never been there, but had heard that in February and March, Bald Eagles migrating through on their way to Alaska stop to rest and fish for a few weeks. We'd missed most of them but saw one through a pair of binoculars they'd set up at the nature center. There were several stuffed birds and lots of other displays about the wildlife around there. After that, we took a walk along one of the trails through the wetlands. We heard frogs, but could never see them. What we did see were a couple of snakes and several kinds of waterfowl. It was a beautiful warm day, one of the few we've had of late, and it was so pleasant to walk with the kids and just enjoy the sunshine together!
A snake in the grass. Can you see it?

I took this one just to tease Darrel because it looks like he likes the dog. Even though he's decidedly not a dog person, he is willing to help out in a pinch.

  1. Darrel and the dog did startle me. I have a similar one with Curt and Jewels. ha!

I love your hair, by the way!

  2. Thanks, Lisa. It's my blowin' in the wind look. I think I'll have that photo of Darrel blown up and framed for Father's Day to remind him what a good dad he is for sacrificing for the good of his kids.
