Park City

This was our annual vacation with my side of the family (Wed, June 17 through Sat June 19).  Darrel and Spencer had Cub Scout camp the first two days we were up there, but joined us Thursday evening.  We had such a fun time!  It rained a ton, but we had a beautiful view of the old city from a rented home high up on the mountain.  The kids loved the hot tub and made it a rule that they had to get in directly after every meal, to which they adhered quite strictly.

My youngest brother, John, brought his girlfriend, Lindsey, along this year.  Grace was instantly in love with her and wanted to do everything with her.  At one point, she figured out that if Lindsey and John got married, Lindsey would be her aunt, which sounded like the best thing ever to her!  She whispered this discovery to Darrel and then to Lindsey who got a good laugh out of it.  No beating around the bush with Grace!

Grandma and Grandpa treated everyone to a ride on the Heber Creeper train on Thursday.  The weather cleared long enough that afternoon to make for a sunny ride.  The sun came out again Friday which just so happened to be the day we had planned to ride the Alpine Slide, so the timing was perfect.  We also got in games, hikes, bike rides, Wii games, shopping at the outlet stores, and lots of laughs.  Perhaps best of all (especially to Justin) was the constant companionship of "Pa" who was kept hopping by all Justin's requests.

Thanks, Mom and Dad for a wonderful vacation!

  3. Lisa- Yes, you're right! All my siblings were there. It was fun to have us all together.

Kat- Loved your definition! There was a bike trail that went right past the house we rented. If you like mountain biking, the lift by the Alpine Slide is just $18 for a day pass so you can ride up and bike down. If you are more of flat biker like me, there is a nice paved trail starting around the Catholic Church and big white barn on your way into Park City proper (I think it's on Highway 240? I could be way off on that number, but it's the main road into Park City after you get off at Kimball Junction.) There are probably lots of others around, too, but those are the couple that I know about. You could probably look online and find a bunch, too.

  4. What a great time! I loved to see all of the pictures of everyone I hadn't seen in so long. Plus all of the kids together. That was so neat! I dont think I ever would have recognized John right off. Is he the real Incredible Hulk??? What happened to little baby John??!! What a great tradition and a perfect place. What great memories. What else can I say..blah blah blah blah blah........loved it!
